Pack 89 Information...

Welcome...

Welcome to the internet web site for Cub Scout Pack 89 in Lake Arrowhead, California.  If this is your first time visiting our site, we are very glad you made your way to this page.  We hope that all the basic questions you have about us will be answered in the following text.  If not though, please do not hesitate to send us an email with your questions, or just to ask us to call you.  There is a link in the left frame, right down there below the buttons, that will let you send that email easily.  You are welcome to email either the CubMaster (the creative and energetic force behind the Pack meetings) or the Webmaster (who doubles as an Assistant Cubmaster).  Either of us will be happy to help you.

A Little about us...

Lake Arrowhead District Pack 89 is located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.  Serving a community often called the jewel of the Southern California, our scouts are taught valuable life-building skills with the support of family, friends, and neighbors among the pines and oaks of our mountain.

With so many outdoor opportunities close at hand, Pack 89 stays extremely busy, with up to three pack activities a month.  These activities are further supported by each den's activities.

The Purposes of Cub Scouting...

Cub Scouting is the phase of the program offered by the Boy Scouts of America for boys in the first through fifth grade.  The purposes of Cub Scouting are to help parents and community organizations serve boys by:

For a GREAT introduction to what Cub Scouting is all about, take a moment to visit www.JoinCubScouting.org.  Have your future Scout with you to watch the videos, play the games, and explore the fun.

Becoming A Member...

We are always looking for families to join Cub Scouts any time of the year.

Who can join?  Boys first through fifth grade who are interested in having fun, meeting new people and who want to learn new and exciting things are eligible in joining the Cub Scouts of Pack 89.  If your son is enthusiastic about joining the summer before first grade, join us and let us welcome him as a new Tiger Cub.

How can you join?   To join, attend the next pack meeting or activity.  Once there, a Pack leader will guide you along the sign-up process.  If you are unable to attend the next Pack meeting or activity then contact Daymond Allen, the CubMaster by email by clicking on the link at the bottom of the left frame (below the buttons), or call (909) 336-1773.

Benefits of joining:   Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting!

For the Parents as well as the boys:  For you parents, Scouting is guaranteed quality time with your child, watching them with friends, feeling the satisfaction of accomplishment and success, and being proud to be a part of such a large brotherhood.  You can join Scouts yourself.  Many opportunities exist as a leader in the Den or the Pack.  For a better picture of what to expect from Scouting, read this Parent's Guide To Scouting.

Pack Membership Guidelines:   Scouting is for the boys, but definitely requires the support, assistance, and cooperation of the parents as well.  Our Pack 89 Guidelines booklet outlines everything each member of the family is responsible for, and what the Pack expects from each.  Please click here to take a look.  This document requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.  You can download the free reader at www.adobe.com/acrobat .
